Upfront it costs 6 dollars to get into the gate.
That out of the way the park itself is fantastic. There is a river with some tiny water falls and some views from the top of some hills overlooking them. Regardless of the time of the year though its beautiful.
I've never seen a dog there but I've seen some prints so I'd assume it's dog friendly. Also there are port-o-pottys so you don't have to worry about the washroom situation.
There is a fee to get in, bathrooms are available at the main parking lot, the trails are maintained however there is still a bit of tree debris that need caring for. The main trail takes you to a serene place with a set of beautiful cascades that are very soothing to watch.
Beautiful setting. Great hike within the woods and along the river. Some trails.have some modest steep sections if that is a concern.
Vanderwater Conservation Area is a true gem in our area, offering a serene escape into nature. The well-maintained trails and scenic river views provide a perfect setting for family outings or a peaceful walk with your dogs. As a local real estate broker, I appreciate the value such a beautiful natural space adds to our community
FANTASTIC! I have been to most of the conservation areas around Belleville and this place is the best one in my opinion. Good 6k loop, trails are well maintained. I will make this a regular stop. As others mentioned the trails are poorly marked but not overly complicated to navigate.
Beautiful forested walk to a wonderful area of the river with shallow cascading waterfalls. The water depth ranges from a few inches to 2 feet, so it is perfect for toddlers to adults. Warm, slowly moving water across flat rock formations, make it easy and fun to wade around.
The park is very beautiful with easy to medium terrain in the winter. The biggest problem is that the trails really aren’t marked at all. When I read this in a review, I thought, how bad can it be? Well, it was pretty bad. Thankfully, we …
Have been here camping several times in the past with cadets and always loved the scenery and trails. Had the chance to go up for a couple hours this afternoon, and am quite thankful I did. Had a great tine walking along in the water, and …
Beautiful spot for a vibrant Thanksgiving Sunday nature walk with the kids. The weather was perfect and we saw lots of life around us... chipmunks, blue Jays, leopard frogs, wooly bear caterpillars (with small hitchhikers on them...fleas maybe), and our son even spotted a water snake in a pond near the river.
Great trails and beautiful views of the river. Their is even a spot you can take a dip and chill on some rocks. The trails are well maintained. Recommend parking on the second parking lot because not much happens from first parking lot. …
